For more than 20 years, Dr. Abney served as the Church Administrator for the Salem Baptist Church of Chicago, one of the fastest growing churches in the Midwest. This megachurch serves the Lord through its evangelism and discipleship programming, and worship center; The House of Hope. Which is one of the largest facilities in the City of Chicago.
It is out of her obedience that Abney and Associates, LLC., was established in 2013, and launched full-time in 2018.
Dr. Abney received her third designated term as a Certified Church Administrator (CCA) through the National Association of Church Business Administrators (NACBA) in 2018.
Dr. Abney is also a Myers-Briggs Certified Practitioner through the Myers Briggs Foundation.
Her expertise in professional development has contributed to her success in the implementation of system integration solutions, human resource/staff development tools, and project management processes to utilize cross-functional support resources in a church or ministry setting.
Veronica Abney has a diverse background in the areas of banking, retail, administration, and information technology. She enjoys the challenge using her skills and training — acquired in the world of Corporate America — to build the Kingdom of God.
As a seasoned professional, Dr. Abney understands how to use second chair leadership responsibilities to elevate, encourage, inspire, and motivate the first chair leader.
Church administration is primary among her areas of expertise. Her desire is to see all churches operate in their God given authority and with a spirit of excellence.
Her ministry passion is mentoring young women in urban communities. She also has a heart and passion for pastors, church leaders and ministry work.
She is married to Kevin, and they are the parents of two young adults; Kevin Jr. and Nicole.
